Hexapolis - Civilization game 9+

Great Game if you only have 1 device

This is a great game. You can learn it easily. It is a ton of fun that will keep you engaged. It only has 2 big downfalls. The first is the lack of any wiki or other like aspects outside of discord. The second and much more detrimental is the inability to play across devices, even of the same type. Not being able to start on an iPhone, and pick up on an iPad, or vice versa, is a sorely missing component. In the current age this should be standard. I wouldn’t recommend spending any money on a product that is missing that feature. Despite this the game is so fun I still give it a 5* rating because there are no 1/2 stars.

Too easy

(Update) After getting farther in the campaign, the AI gets somewhat better, and hard difficulty level does eventually unlock. However, the latest update adding a button appearing like every 20 secs during gameplay offering goods in exchange for watching an ad was just too much - there are already A LOT of places where ads are offered. Most of them you can avoid, but this new button just gets in the way too much - I just know I'm going to end up tapping on it accidentally just as it appears. I'm done.

Production values are good, but the AI is way too simple - spawns like 2-3 units in an entire game and barely expands (only played through the first set of levels, but still, AI that easy should only be on the first level or two). And first 2-3 levels even show you where the enemy city is! Lol. This game is basically a poor copy of Hexonia but instead of tribes (different sets of armies), you have the leader heroes and some armies which you can assign to your chosen hero. But whereas Hexonia has a good variety of different tribes, this only seems to have different heroes (I haven't seen more than one of each type of army, so as far as I can tell, you'll always have those same armies even if you use different heroes). The skill trees are weird too - they don't really make much sense in their progression (compare to Hexonia - each tree there makes perfect sense in the progression of unlocks).

We're aiming to provide a fresh perspective on the progression system by introducing hero units instead of tribes. You're absolutely right that the tech tree is less important than the army upgrading and combat strategy, which we're focusing on.

Regarding the ad button, we're still testing to strike the right balance between aiding players with progression and not overwhelming them with ads. Next week, we'll have the results of our testing and make necessary improvements.

Broken but I love it

In no doubt that the game is broken because the AI doesn’t attack each other and only target you. There is also the problem of the pike man being way to OP but I have never been one to back down because of a skill issue and will continue to play the game.
