Hi im a pancake ,

Feels great, needs updates

This game feels surprisingly good, especially considering it’s on mobile. The characters are fun, and the combo system allows for a lot of expression. But, it has some important features that are completely missing.

There is no online play yet, leaving you to beat up on cpus or lab stuff out in training mode. Sure, the game is fun, but if you can’t play it against real people then there’s nothing to keep you coming back. The dev has said they’re working on online though, so look out for that when it comes out.

There’s two other problems I have with the game: the tutorial and training mode. The game barely explains its mechanics at all. I’d like to know how combo scaling and bursts work specifically, but the tutorial doesn’t explain anything but the basics, and the training mode isn’t robust enough for me to figure it out. You can’t assign the training cpu to any actions, so you can’t even test out what moves hit high/low. Since this is a small game, I haven’t been able to find resources or a community around it outside the game, so you’re left clueless about a lot of things.

However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it out. It’s free, and it’s a fighting game that feels good on mobile. When this game gets online, and if the training mode is updated, I could see myself spending a lot of time with it. But until then, probably not.

Updates have started going backwards

Hi, I’m a long time player of the game, (been playing almost since IOS launch) and I’ve noticed some of the recent updates, namely 1.2 have caused a shift in the gameplay in a negative way. While the new maps, characters, and fixes to the game are appreciated, the general game itself has started to lose some of its charm. Things such as “renting” fighters or locking fighters (some of whom are much stronger than the base characters) behind a paywall is a rather annoying thing to deal with, considering months ago this game was very good at having no micro transactions that changed the gameplay. While I do understand that developing a game requires money (hence the recent influx of ads) the fact that the game has adopted a somewhat P2W mentality upsets me as a long time fan of the game. While I hope that these issues are resolved and the developer finds a way to allow players more access to characters rather than hiding them behind a paywall, with the current path the game is on, I feel that the game may have lost some of its original appeal. The charm of simple fun fast paced fighting has been replaced by a struggle to go against some characters and feeling lacking in power to the paid fighters. All in all the game still is fun, but the devs must ensure that it doesn’t lose its gameplay to micro transactions.

Great game for 2d anime fighter players

So my best friend recommended me trying this game out. My first look at it made me doubtful looking at the visual appeal at the game. I picked up Ares, went to training to learn some controls and mechanics, went into arcade and had a blast. This game is really good if you want to play a more mechanically solid 2d fighter down on your phone. There is no delay between input and character actions like games like Shadowfight, and the controls are easy to pick up, but rather precise than a braindead tippy tap and slides control.
I think I found one bug while fighting the enemy, it was an AI Summer, where we did some crossing up, and then she was stuck fighting turned the wrong way. Not sure what happened there, but it was the only bug I found. Another slight difference I have with the game is the fact you can dash in the air as much as you please. This allows for extensive air combos and would probably be awkward against other players in the upcoming online pvp game mode.
Otherwise, really solid mobile 2d fighter! It’s better than and other mobile copies of 2d fighters, and I’ll be keeping it on my phone. Really looking forward to seeing this game grow, I hope you get working ads soon to start getting some support for the game.
